Cycling at the ALS Walk 2013

Today, the ALS Cycle of Hope joined the annual Victoria ALS Walk at UVic to support its efforts in raising awareness and funds for ALS research. Our 2013 team was committed to take part in this fundraiser and the riders were pleased (and excited) to have with us two alumni cyclists from our inaugural year (2012), Sara Wegwitz and Brenda Houston-Paquette.

It felt so good to be able to put on our kit again and ride as a team for an event that shares a similar mission. The ALS Walk, for some of our riders, is also a sad reminder of the people we loved and lost to ALS. It is a time where we rely on our inner strength and courage to focus on the incredible memories we hold in our hearts, a time of reflection and connections with others who have witnessed a similar experience.  It is a time to support one another, be together, ride together along side the walkers.

Thank you to all our families, friends and close community for your continued support.  If you or a friend would like to have more information with regards to the ALS Cycle of Hope 2014 project, either to join our team or to volunteer/participate in community events (Victoria & Kelowna) –please contact us at:
