Saltspring Adventure!

Salt Spring

The ALS Cycle of Hope conquered Salt Spring Island yesterday. The team enjoyed the challenges  that the day brought– the many hills provided an opportunity to work together. We are realizing how the harder rides are bringing our team closer.

During our visit to the Ganges Market, the ALS Cycle of Hope learned that two people on Salt Spring are presently fighting ALS. We thought of their battle when riding- especially when facing the more challenging hills. Those thoughts helped us see a different perspective and understand why our ALS awareness journey is so important.

On our way back we discovered that some riders are a bit more flexible than others while stretching! Thanks team for an incredible day on Salt Spring Island.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you ride your Cycle of Hope. I lost my aunt to ALS 2 years ago. I am a cyclist myself and would love to join your ride. We met you a year ago when you were riding through Deep Creek after leaving Salmon Arm. It’s a pretty place to ride and I enjoyed seeing your photos taken by the old house (the one that’s kind of leaning a little). I don’t get a lot of riding in after we start haying as I’m out on the tractor for long hours everyday it’s not raining. Looks like good weather for riding and haying right now. All the best…………….

    • Hi Laurel!
We remember meeting you on Deep Creek Road as well! The ALS Cycle of Hope team had such a great time taking photos at the old house! We will be once again riding that road on August 9th, when we leave Salmon Arm and heading out to Vernon. Our Armstrong stop is one of our many highlights! It would be great to see you in Kelowna on August 11th at our ALS community rides. We are offering two rides, a 30km and a 70km. Would you be able to join us then? All the information is on our website… check it out! It would be amazing to see you then!
